September 1, 2025 — We proudly announces the launch of the H2O People Foundation, a dynamic new initiative born from the impactful work of the EJWP and H2O People community and the iMERMAID programme. This foundation marks a significant milestone in the journey toward long-term societal engagement and innovation in addressing water and environmental related challenges.
As a spin-off from iMERMAID’s mission-driven activities, the H2O People Foundation will serve as a catalyst for expanding the reach and impact of the H2O People Impact Framework. This framework has already proven its value in fostering collaboration, creativity, and community-driven solutions across Europe, particularly in tackling chemical pollution in the Mediterranean region.
“The creation of the H2O People Foundation is a natural next step,” said Naomi Timmer, one of the driving forces behind the initiative. “It allows us to scale our efforts, build stronger networks, and ensure that water research and innovation remains rooted in societal needs and values.”
The foundation will focus on:
