The project SKILLS4Water started in September 2023 and has brought together academics, human capital specialists, and entrepreneurial specialists with the sole purpose of empowering young professionals from the water sector with essential soft skills. Until now, the project partners have identified the most important soft skills that young professionals activating in the European water sector must acquire and develop. Thus, based on this, a standardized framework was developed to integrate the identified skills in the curricula of Cadiz University – Spain, the University of Nis – Serbia, and the University of Galati – Romania. As such, a series of learning activities were designed for pilot testing in the university year 2024-2025. At the same time, advanced training sessions were organized in Nis – Serbia, and Brussels – Belgium targeting to enhance participants’ interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, as well as leadership, resilience, and agility skills by using innovative and interactive tools. The training sessions were followed by two multiplier events to raise awareness of local stakeholders on the importance of soft skills development among professionals working in the water sector. The next training session will be hosted by The Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities and will take place in November 2024 in Muenster – Germany.
